Product Features

Features Benefits
PCI Express Supports the latest Apple Power Mac G5, Mac Pro and Intel-
based Xserve systems
IEEE 802.3ad Compatibility Supports Gigabit Ethernet link aggregation networking
standard
Intel® 82572EI Gigabit Controller Provides high performance, reliability, and low power use in a
single integrated Gigabit Ethernet controller chip
Jumbo Frames support up to 9 KB Increase performance through reduced overhead
TCP checksum offload in RX and TX Provides efficiency for host processing
Interrupt Moderation Delivers increased performance while significantly reducing
CPU utilization
Gigabit speeds on Category-5 cable networks Able to achieve Gigabit speeds on commonly
deployed CAT-5 cabling without costly cable replacement
Auto-sensing, self-configuring 10/100/1000 Mbps performance Enables migration to faster
networks easily and inexpensively—adapter will automatically
sense when the network is able to support a faster speed, and
self-configure to save IT staff time, money and server
downtime

Features:
The Small Tree PEG1D desktop card allows you to expand the basic network connectivity of your Power Mac G5 with PCIe or Mac Pro systems. The PEG1D card supports jumbo frames but does not support link aggregation (802.3ad).
This desktop PCI Express card offers one 10/100/1000 Base-T ethernet port. It offers basic Gigabit ethernet RJ-45 connectivity with support for standard and Jumbo frames. The PEG1D card does not support 802.3ad link aggregation, PCIe Hot Plug, IEEE 802.1Q VLANs or IEEE802.3 (z,ab,u,x) flow control. Those features are fully supported on the Small Tree PEG1 server card.

Supported Apple Platforms
Apple Power Mac G5 with PCI Express and the Mac Pro. Not recommended for the Intel-based Xserve.
