Detail:

The Small Tree PXG2 server card allows you to expand the network connectivity of your systems. Unlike the Power Mac G4's built in ethernet port, the PXG1 supports jumbo frames which means higher data transfer rates. Use the PXG1 card to get an immediate performance increase on large transfers when connecting to other network devices that support jumbo frames or to simply connect to more networks. When used in conjunction with the Mac OS 10.4 (and later) built-in link aggregation software (for Mac OS 10.3 and earlier use Small Tree's 802.3ad load balancing software), these cards provide increased network bandwidth, transparent load balancing among the ports, and transparent fail over if one or more ports or cables become disabled.

Product Features
64-bit/133Mhz PCI-X network interface cards containing two, four or six independent 10/100/1000 megabit ports on one PCI-X adapter. The Gigabit adapters are the perfect solution for a cost effective, instant performance boost over your existing Category 5 UTP copper cabling for getting high-powered networking. The cards are the ideal solution for implementing mission-critical high-powered networking applications and multiple network segments environments within high performance servers. The Gigabit adapters ease network congestion, simplify network management, and provide the highest server throughput available while minimizing CPU utilization. Its independent 1000/100/10 Gigabit Ethernet ports provide users of data-intensive applications with the highest levels of system performance together with extra redundancy. Performance: the Gigabit Adapters are faster and wider With a 133Mhz host PCI-X connection, the adapters are faster. With a true 64-bit interface, the adapters widen the network pipeline and allows higher throughput. Together, the 64-bit interface and 133Mhz bus speed significantly reduce system overhead.

Features:
Conserve valuable PCI-X slot space, alleviate bottlenecks, and increase uptime with Gigabit performance in multi-mode fiber-optic networks. This family of PCI-X cards offers 1, 2 or 4 independent fiber optic Gigabit ethernet ports per slot. Small Tree Communications is the first and only company to support multiport fiber optic networking for the Apple Mac computers and OS X. These cards also come with drivers for Linux and Windows systems. The inherent advantages of fiber optic cabling over copper are longer cable lengths without repeaters and both the total lack of RF emissions from the optical cable as well as complete resistance of the cable to outside RF and electro-magnetic interference.

Multi-port cards allow you to expand the network connectivity of your systems. These cards support jumbo frames which means higher data transfer rates. Use these cards to get an immediate performance increase on large transfers when connecting to other network devices that support jumbo frames or to simply connect to more networks.
